Her activism—marching from Selma to Birmingham and challenging authority—led to personal sacrifice, including a landmark Supreme Court case over academic freedom. Amid political unrest and personal turmoil, she faced betrayal, violence, and gender injustice. Yet through resilience and reinvention, she emerges stronger, forging a new life on her own terms.
